Join REI on Wednesday, October 26 from 7:00pm – 8:00pm as they discuss all things about great Southern California hiking! Great Southern California Hikes: Hikes that offer waterfalls, ocean views, solitude, birding, and altitude training.
This session will talk about what people are seeking (scenery, quiet, birding, waterfalls, ocean views, altitude training) and provide information for hikes in Southern California offering those things. You will talk about safety, responsibility, and the benefits of spending time outdoors. This course is taught by a guest presenter, Lubna Debbini, from the Sierra Club, Wilderness Travel Course. Lubna is the chair of Orange County Wilderness Training Course and an Assistant Group Leader. She regularly leads local hikes and backpacking trips in the Sierra Nevada. As an outdoor enthusiast, she loves sharing information so others may enjoy the outdoors safely as well.
